FAQ

What does CE CAT III mean for the FR731?
+
CE CAT III (Category III) is the highest protection category for personal protective equipment according to EU Regulation 2016/425. It applies to risks that can lead to irreversible damage or death – such as arc flash, flames, and extreme heat. The FR731 is certified for this highest hazard level.
What is the difference between ELIM and ATPV for arc flash protection?
+
Both values describe arc flash protection in cal/cm². ELIM (Energy Limit) indicates the maximum energy at which no ignition of the fabric occurs – a more conservative value. ATPV (Arc Thermal Performance Value) describes the energy at which there is a 50% probability of a 2nd-degree burn. The FR731 has ELIM 22 cal/cm² and ATPV 26 cal/cm².
Is the FR731 suitable for ATEX zones?
+
Yes. The FR731 is suitable for use in explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones) due to its EN 1149-5 certification. The integrated carbon fibers in the BizFlame Work+ outer fabric dissipate electrostatic charges in a controlled manner.
How is the FR731 washed?
+
The FR731 is washable on a gentle cycle at max. 40°C. Important: do not use bleach or fabric softeners, as these can damage the FR properties. Do not tumble dry – hang to dry. Iron up to max. 150°C. With correct care, all protective functions remain permanently effective.
Can the hood be removed?
+
Yes, the FR731's lined hood is detachable. This allows the jacket to be used flexibly – with the hood for maximum protection against wind and rain, or without the hood for more freedom of movement indoors.
Are bulk discounts available?
+
Yes. For orders of 10 items or more, we offer tiered bulk discounts. Send us an inquiry at info@masterwear.de for a customized quote.
