FAQ

What is Sealtex Flame fabric?
Sealtex Flame is a special fabric developed by Portwest, made from PU-coated polyester (260 g/m²), which combines multiple protective functions in a single material: flame-retardant according to EN 14116, waterproof, windproof, and chemical-resistant. The fabric is lightweight and flexible, yet offers robust multi-standard protection – ideal for demanding work environments.
What does EN 343 Class 3/1 mean?
EN 343 is the standard for protection against rain. Class 3/1 means: Class 3 for waterproofing (highest level) and Class 1 for breathability. The FR41 is therefore maximally waterproof, with breathability designed for a lower value – a typical characteristic of robust high-visibility jackets for heavy outdoor use.
Is the FR41 suitable for ATEX areas?
Yes. Due to its EN 1149 certification for antistatic properties, the FR41 is fully suitable for use in explosive ATEX areas. The jacket reliably prevents the generation of dangerous electrostatic discharges.
What does CE CAT III mean?
CE CAT III (Category III) is the highest protection category for personal protective equipment according to EU Regulation 2016/425. It applies to risks that can lead to irreversible damage or death – such as flames, heat, and dangerous chemicals. The FR41 is certified for this highest hazard level.
How is the FR41 cleaned?
Machine wash according to manufacturer's instructions. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners – these can impair the water-repellent impregnation, the high-visibility effect of the reflective strips, and the flame-retardant properties. With correct care, all protection classifications remain permanently effective. The dirt-repellent finish can be refreshed by ironing or tumble drying if necessary.
Are bulk discounts and company branding possible?
Yes. For orders of 10 pieces or more, we offer tiered volume discounts. Company branding is also available upon request. Contact us directly.
