LIGHT KNIT – seamless sneaker upper material

The 100% woven, seamless LIGHT KNIT upper combines extreme wearing comfort with an optimal fit. The monosock construction fits like a second skin – no rubbing, no pressure points, maximum breathability. Fashion meets Safety.

RUN-3 sole system with MPU® Rebound

Three layers for maximum performance: nitrile outsole (slip-resistant, abrasion-resistant, oil/acid-resistant), MPU® Rebound midsole (soft cushioning + energy return) and intermediate sole. Noticeably fatigue-free walking over long shifts.

ESD protection according to EN 61340-5-1

The ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) equipment dissipates electrostatic charges in a controlled manner – protecting sensitive electronic components from damage and preventing ignitable discharges in potentially explosive atmospheres. Essential for sensitive working areas.

Steel toe cap + steel penetration protection

Robust steel toe cap (200 joules) protects against falling objects. The penetration-resistant steel midsole protects against sharp objects from below – S1P mandatory. Both protective components made of robust steel for maximum reliability.

clima-stream® + aktiv-X functional lining

The clima-stream® concept maximizes breathability and actively regulates moisture and temperature. The aktiv-X functional lining ensures a comfortable wearing experience during a long working day – no sweating, no freezing, always the right climate.

DGUV 112-191 – orthopedic insoles

Certified according to DGUV 112-191 – the shoe can be orthopedically adapted by qualified shoemakers. Also suitable for use with orthopedic insoles from a statutory health insurance prescription. Important for wearers with special foot requirements.

FAQ

What do S1P SRC mean and what features do they include?
S1P SRC is a safety class according to EN ISO 20345. S1 includes: steel toe cap (200 joules), antistatic properties, fuel resistance, shock absorption in the heel and closed heel area. The P stands for penetration protection (puncture protection against nails and sharp objects). SRC is the highest slip resistance class – tested on tiles with sodium lauryl sulfate and on steel plates with glycerin.
What is ESD and when are ESD shoes necessary?
ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) refers to the uncontrolled discharge of electrostatic charges. ESD shoes dissipate these charges in a controlled manner via the sole. They are necessary in electronics manufacturing (protection of sensitive components), in cleanrooms, when working with electronic components, and in certain explosion-hazard areas. The EN 61340-5-1 resistance range is between 100 kΩ and 35 MΩ – in contrast to antistatic S1P shoes, which only need to be below 1 GΩ.
What is the RUN-3 sole system and MPU® Rebound?
RUN-3 is Atlas®'s three-layer sole system: The nitrile outsole is slip-resistant (SRC), abrasion-resistant, oil and acid-resistant. MPU® (Multi-Polyurethane) is a high-tech foam in the midsole that simultaneously provides soft cushioning and returns energy – similar to high-end running shoes. The system is reactive: it returns energy with every step, significantly reducing fatigue during long shifts.
What does DGUV 112-191 mean and who needs it?
DGUV 112-191 is the regulation of the German Social Accident Insurance for orthopedic foot protection. Shoes with this certification may be orthopedically adapted by qualified shoemakers and are suitable for orthopaedic insoles prescribed by health insurance. This is important for employees with foot deformities, diabetes, or orthopedic requirements who still need to wear safety shoes.
What size should I order for the Runner 25?
The elastic LIGHT KNIT upper adapts very flexibly to the foot thanks to the monosock construction. Atlas® recommends ordering your normal shoe size for the Runner 25. For wide feet or if orthopedic insoles are to be used, half to a whole size larger may be advisable. Sizes are available in EU standard sizes 36–48.
Are bulk discounts available?
Yes. For orders of 10 pairs or more, we offer tiered volume discounts. For companies that procure safety shoes as workwear, we recommend individual consultation. Contact us directly.
