**How water-activated tape works for a secure carton seal:**

1. **Activation by water**
To activate the water-activated tape, the adhesive side is lightly moistened. This can be done manually or with a special water-activated tape dispenser, such as the fully automatic activa NK4000. This dispenser guides the tape through an integrated water reservoir, so that the adhesive layer is evenly moistened.

2. **Applying the tape**
After moistening, the water-activated tape is applied to the carton surface. The water-based adhesive layer penetrates slightly into the carton fibers and develops extremely strong adhesion.

3. **Drying and curing**
While the adhesive layer dries, the tape permanently bonds with the carton. This "dowel effect" creates a tamper-proof and stable seal that can only be removed with visible damage to the carton.
